Tattle Init
Part of TattleTech, this extension provides TattleTech with information about extensions and control panels at startup and system heap. The heap is a section of the computer's memory that is parceled out in different sized blocks according to the needs of a program. The heap is 'free' (available) memory that a computer relies upon when it needs to load and run programs; how much of the heap the program will need isn't known until the program is running. A heap can bcome fragmented, requiring compaction to allow the memory to be used more efficiently.

Text Services Manager Fix
Also known as "TSM Fix". The operating system give low-level programmers a mechanism (called the jGNEFilter) for intercepting user events (mouse clicks, key downs, etc) and "filtering" or modifying them before the computer processes them. Many system extensions use this hook to implement special functionality in your computer (such as SuperClock and ObiWan) and work transparently to the user. This system extension remedies the problem by checking events as they are presented to the running programs. If an event has not passed through the installed filters, this extension sends it to be filtered before returning. In plain English this means that button clicks are better understood by the computer and fewer 'missing' button clicks will occur. Use by program like SpellTools to make certain that all button clicks addressed to it are properly recognized.

You have probably installed MacTerminal 3.0 or a third-party terminal emulation software package that has licensed the tools from Apple. This communications tool allows direct, uncorrected file transfers of text. You do not need this communications tool if you do not or will not work with telecommunications.

Trackpad Climate Control
Reduces or eliminates unexpected movement of the pointer caused by moisture or humidity on the trackpad of the Macintosh PowerBook 190, Macintosh PowerBook 1400, and Macintosh PowerBook Duo 2300. Use it if you notice the pointer moving abruptly when you initially touch the trackpad or "jumping" to its previous position when you lift your finger after moving the pointer or tapping the trackpad. Do not use if you have not had pointer-movement problems on your computer. (The extension could make the pointer less responsive when you use the trackpad.)
